Bosch Iridium Edition RTR Mustang Build

2010 Formula Drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. has teamed up with Bosch to build a one of a kind RTR Mustang that will eventually be given away to a lucky winner in a Bosch sweepstakes. Vaughn has used Bosch components in his Formula Drift Mustang  so naturally he was chosen to help promote the company’s new Iridium Spark Plug by building an Iridium Edition RTR Mustang. Bosch will be publishing four videos to follow the build and development of the car.

Two videos of the Iridium Mustang build have been published so far. The first video discusses the initial ideas for the car and the second video about creating the Mustang. Gittin takes a visit to Classic Design Concepts in Novi, MI to begin working on the car. CDC worked with Vaughn to create the RTR Mustang, so it’s only natural that the pair are involved with the Iridium Edition version. The Iridium Mustang makes its appearance for the first time, black on black Premium GT with Brembo package and it is revealed that the car will feature several carbon fiber body components as well as custom HRE P40S wheels.

When Ford first introduced the new facelifted 2010 Ford Mustang, a section of it’s Mustang website was started called ‘The 2010 Unleashed’. A number of video stories were published for Ford to promote and show off the new body style. The first in a line of ‘The 2010 Unleashed’ stories featured Formula Drift driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. taking a 2010 Mustang GT far from home on a trip of a lifetime to Japan. During the video story we follow Vaughn as he arrives in Japan and to check out the drifting scene. Anyone who is familiar with drifting knows that Japan is it’s homeland, and the Mustang is not your typical drift car. However Vaughn Gittin Jr. is in Japan with no ordinary brand new 2010 Mustang. Before being shipped to Japan, it was fitted with a Ford Racing Whipple Supercharger kit pumping out 550 horsepower along with a Ford Racing suspension. The plot is simple: the land of the rising sun, a professional drifter, and a brand new tire shredding Mustang. How will Japan’s drift culture embrace a modern pumped up Mustang?
